BEGEMAN BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD SATURDAY

GRAND FORKS, N.D.— Trevor Begeman became the new school record holder in the shot put Saturday, throwing for 59-01.50 and taking fifth place at the UND Open behind the top shot put throwers in the conference and the No. 3 shot thrower in the country in NDSU's Alex Talley.
Begeman, a sophomore from Selby, S.D, broke his previous PR of 58-0.50 set last season that had him at second all-time by 13 inches.Â
Also moving their way up the all-time charts, Rich-Ann Archer recorded a personal best time on three separate occasions Saturday. In the 60m prelims, Archer ran a 7.55 to pass her previous best time of 7.65 and move to third all-time at SDSU. In the finals, she ran a 7.54 to take first and continue to hold the third best time in program history. Finally, Archer took second in the 200m dash with a time of 25.27 and is now ranked ninth all time at SDSU. She was previously 10th with a 25.43 mark.
Cailee Peterson broke the five minute mark in the women's mile, running a 4:58.19 for a third place finish and is now ranked 10th all-time at SDSU.
Tre Manning tied his personal best leap of 23-04.75 to take first in the men's long jump. He's currently 10th all-time at State.

- Nick Wessels took second in the men's 60m hurdles finals with a 8.26. Unattached Jackrabbit Jacob Lackas took third with an 8.34.
- Jaymie O'Connor finished third in the women's 60m hurdles finals with a 8.90.
- Jake Werner took first in the men's 60m dash with a time of 7.11
- Emily Altenburg won gold in the women's long jump with a leap of 18-02.25. Jaiden Boomsma followed with a mark of 17-08.75 to take third.
- Hannah Whitbread picked up another PR on the season. She won the women's 400 in a time of 57.45, beating her previous best 57.86 she ran last weekend.
- Emmanuel Phoulom-Smith ran a 49.88 to take third in the men's 400m dash.
- Tori Glazier took second (1:38.03) and Kasey Klocek took third (1:44.41) in the women's 600m run.
- Conner Powers finished third in the men's high jump with a mark of 6-01.75.
- Sophie Bisgard jumped for 36-06.25 to take second in the women's triple jump.
- Noah Huber claimed third in the men's weight throw with a 62-05.00 marking
- Jake Werner comes in third in the men's 200m dash with a 22.38
- Trey Tiefenthaler jumped unattached for the Jackrabbits and came up with a 45-03.75 mark good enough for first place. Tre Manning finished third with a 44-06.75.
- SD State 'A' (Kasey Klocek, Harley Fischer, Tori Glazier, Grace Lamski) finished third in the women's 4x400 in a time of 4:01.63.
- Emmanuel Phoulom-Smith, Pierre Lear, Josh Donahoe, and Cameron Kuil finished third in the men's 4x400 in a time of 3:27.52.
