SERIES HISTORY
North Dakota State holds a 77-16 all-time record over South Dakota State. The Jacks are 1-9 in the last 10 meetings with the Bison and were swept in both contests last season.
Crystal Burk recorded nine kils and 12 digs the last time the sides met. Hailee Blau posted seven kills and Carly Wedel dished 25 assists. Defensively, Tatum Pickar led with 17 digs.
SCOUTING THE BISON
North Dakota State has two conference wins on the season with victories over Western Illinois and St. Thomas. The Bison lost 3-0 to Denver and 3-1 to Omaha last week.
Ali Hinze leads the Bison attack with 241 kills and 3.44 kills per set, which ranks fourth in the Summit League. Michelle Glover's .278 attack rate is a team high and she paces the blockers with 1.03 blocks per set. Raegen Reilly and Kelley Johnson share the setting duties for the Bison, dishing out 8.40 and 7.05 assists per set, respectively.
Kaylee Hanger posts 3.14 digs per set. Hinze has 19 service aces on the year.
THE JACKRABBITS
A 2-0 mark last week pushed SDSU to 11-6 on the season and 3-3 in Summit action. The Jacks beat Western Illinois and St. Thomas Thursday and Saturday at Frost.
Crystal Burk is second in the Summit League with 3.81 kills per set. Chloe Stitt is also on that list, averaging 3.03 kills per set for eighth. Burk and Stitt registered matching 3.43 kills per set averages last week. Sydney Andrews is the most efficient Jackrabbit attacker with a .331 attack rate and ranks seventh in the League.
Carly Wedel gives out 9.85 assists per set, ranking fourth in th Summit League, but Jasmine Weidemann has handled the setting in the last two contests and averaged 12.29 assists per set in those matches.
Tatum Pickar paces the Jacks' back row with 4.20 digs per set and is fifth in the Summit. Faith Saewert adds a 2.43 average and Burk is just behind with 2.38 digs per set. Ella Thompson tallies 0.98 blocks per set and sits eighth in the Summit League.
LAST TIME OUT
The Jacks cruised to a dominant 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-18) win over St. Thomas Saturday night at Frost Arena. SDSU registered a .532 team hitting percentage and all but one Jackrabbit attacker hit .462 or higher in the contest.
Crystal Burk led all players with 13 kills and attacked at a .600 clip. Sydney Andrews added nine kills with a .615 hitting percentage and Elyse Winter hit .462 with seven kills.
SDSU's defense held the Tommies to just .114 on the attack. Andrews paced the Jackrabbits with six blocks and Winter added four. Tatum Pickar was the only player for either team with with double-digit digs, notching 14.
Setter Jasmine Weidemann notched three kills on her five attempts to surprise the Tommies and had 44 assists.
SDSU had another strong night from the service line. The team had eight aces, including three each from Burk and Ella Thompson.
