Seven members of the South Dakota State women's soccer team hauled in a total of 11 Summit League postseason honors, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Jocelyn Tanner was named the Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year while
Avery Murdzek took home Newcomer of the Year recognition.

Tanner was also tabbed an All-Summit League First Team selection along with teammates
Maya Hansen (F) and
Adalaide Kline (D). Three Jackrabbits – Murdzek (MF),
Teani Arakawa (F) and
Rachel Preston (D) – were placed on the league's second team.
Â
Arakawa (F), along with twin sisters Avery (MF) and
Laney Murdzek (MF), rounded out SDSU's honors with Summit League All-Newcomer Team recognition.

A Jackrabbit has claimed the Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year award in four of the last five seasons.
Avery Murdzek is the third Jack in program history to be named a Freshman or Newcomer of the Year by the conference.

Jacks have now received an all-league nod 79 times throughout program history, including 37 times under head coach
Brock Thompson.

Jocelyn Tanner – Goalkeeper of the Year, First Team (Goalkeeper)
Tanner had an exceptional year in net after she posted an .833 save percentage and registered eight shutouts, a top-25 mark nationally and tied for the sixth-most in a single season in program history. The Ham Lake, Minn. native's 11 wins are also tied for the sixth-most in SDSU single season history.

The Jackrabbit netminder made 55 saves on the year, including setting and tying a career high of six against Kansas City and Denver. Tanner's .723 goals-against average ranks 34
th in the nation this season.

These are the first postseason all-league honors in Tanner's career.

Maya Hansen – First Team (Forward)
Hansen turned in one of the best seasons by a Jackrabbit forward in school history, becoming the first Jack since 2001, and third all-time, to record 30 points in a single season. Hansen scored the 11
th-most goals in the country this season, 13, which tied for the third-most in a season in school history.
Â
She never missed an opportunity to create for her teammates with four assists on the year.

The Savage, Minn. native opened Summit League play with a goal in six consecutive games, the longest goal-scoring streak ever by a Jackrabbit. Hansen was responsible for five game-winning goals which ranked 11
th nationally and earned her a fourth-place spot in the SDSU single-season record book.

This is Hansen's third-career All-League honor and her second consecutive season as a first-team honoree.

Adalaide Kline – First Team (Defender)
Kline has started every game for the Jacks this season and logged over 1,200 minutes while centering the SDSU defense. She was a vital piece of a defensive effort that allowed just four shots on goal per game.
Â
Kline and the Jackrabbit defense aided in 10 shutouts and allowed more than one goal only on three occasions.
Â
The Mission Hills, Kan. native also assisted on two goals this season.
Â
This is Kline's first-career All-Summit League honor.

Avery Murdzek – Newcomer of the Year, Second Team (Midfielder)
Murdzek registered 19 points, the second-most on the team and most by a Summit League freshman, as a key piece of the SDSU midfield this season. The Hudson, Wisc. native found the back of the net six times and buried two game-winners, the most notable of which found a spot on
Sports Center's Top 10 Plays.

More often than not, Murdzek was creating opportunities for her teammates. Her seven assists are tied for the fifth-most in a season all-time and are the most by a freshman in program history.

Murdzek appeared in 19 games and made 10 starts during her freshman campaign, totaling 1,036 minutes.

Rachel Preston – Second Team (Defender)
Preston was the heart and soul of the Jackrabbit defense after starting all 19 games and leading the team with 1,610 minutes. Preston and the SDSU defense helped post 10 shutouts on the year and allowed just four shots on goal per game.

SDSU allowed more than one goal on only three occasions during the season. The Jacks' goals-against average ranked in the top 25 nationally throughout most of the year and ended the regular season at .676, the No. 26 mark in the country.

The Lakeville, Minn. native also registered four points on the season, a goal and two assists. This is Preston's second consecutive all-league honor.

Teani Arakawa – Second Team, All-Newcomer Team (Forward)
Arakawa used her speed to cause problems for opposing defenses all year and turned in 12 points in her freshman campaign. The Makawao, Hawaii native netted five goals and registered two assists in 1,054 minutes, including one game-winner.
Arakawa appeared in every game for the Jacks and made seven starts. She finished the regular season with 14 shots on goal.

Laney Murdzek – All-Newcomer Team (Midfielder)
Murdzek was one of five Jackrabbits to register double digit points this season, totaling 11 points in her first year at SDSU. She scored four times, including one game-winner, and registered three assists.

The Hudson, Wisc. native started all but one game in the Jackrabbit midfield and sent nine of her 15 total shots on goal.
