Faith Leiseth broke the South Dakota State University indoor women's discus throw record Saturday, cementing herself in school history during the second day of the SDSU Holiday Invite and Multi.

Leiseth, who placed third overall in the women's shot put Friday, claimed second in the discus throw finals, creating a new school record with a throw of 152 feet, 7.25 inches.

Rounding out the top-10 finishers in the event was Marianne Robin, who threw for 130-7.50.

In the men's discus throw, Austin Eppard took fifth overall with his throw of 156-05.25 while Bryce Ludwig claimed eighth with a distance of 145-04.50.

In final team scores, the SDSU women claimed the team title with 147.60 points, edging South Dakota by 2.6 points. The men took second place with 102.25 points, trailing South Dakota's first-place ranking with 150.50 points.

The Jackrabbits will return to action in 2022 at the Bison Cup in Fargo, North Dakota, on Jan. 15.
