KANSAS CITY, Mo. – South Dakota State's
Baylor Scheierman earned all-District honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches the group revealed Tuesday.
Scheierman was selected to the District 12 second team, marking the 12th time a Jackrabbit has received all-District recognition since the program's move to Division I.
The sophomore from Aurora, Neb., averaged 15.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game, shooting 49 percent overall, 43 percent from 3-point range and 84 percent at the free throw line.
He tallied 13 double-doubles, the 10th most in the nation, and his 8.6 defensive rebounds per game ranks third in Division I.
Scheierman also earned first-team all-Summit League honors, leading the Jackrabbits to a 16-7 record and a regular season conference title.
