JACKS READY FOR NC STATE, ORU, DRAKE

South Dakota State will send four distance athletes to Raleigh, N.C. for the the Raleigh Relays. SDSU's throwers and distance groups will travel to Des Moines for the Blue Oval Invite hosted by Drake, and sprint and jump groups will head to Oral Roberts for the ORU Invite.
The meets mark the first outdoor competition for the Jackrabbits since the 2018-19 academic year after last year's season was wiped due to Covid-19.

QUARTET OF JACKS NAMED ATHLETES TO WATCH
Four Jackrabbit track and field athletes have been named Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Athletes to Watch, as announced last week by the league office.Â
Trent Francom and Coby Hilton cover the men's side, while Rich-Ann Archer and Annie Wendt represent the women. Also released, the Jackrabbit men are tabbed to finish second in the conference, while the women were picked to finish third in the preseason poll.Â
ATHLETES TO WATCH
Trent Francom
Sr. | Pole Vault | Huron, S.D.
- Took third at the 2019 league championships with a personal-best mark of 17-05.50 (5.32m)
- Earned a trip to the 2019 NCAA West Preliminary rounds where he lept 17-01.00 (5.21m) to take 14th place
- Enters the season coming off a 10th place finish at NCAA Indoor Championships
- Took bronze at the 2021 Summit League Indoor Championships
Coby Hilton
Sr. | Sprints | Marshall, Minn.
- Earned a trip to the 2019 NCAA Championships in the 4x100m relay where the Jacks finished 12th with a time of 39.99
- Ran a personal-best 100m at the 2019 league championships to take gold in the event
- Notched first place at the league championships in the 200m with a time of 21.04
- Took gold in both the 60 and 200 at the 2021 Summit League Indoor Championships
Rich-Ann Archer
So. | Sprints | Kingston, Jamaica
- Won the 60m at the 2021 indoor championships with a personal-best time of 7.53
- Took fifth at the indoor championships in the 200m with a time of 25.06
- Was a member of the 4x400m indoor relay team that took fourth at the 2021 championships
Annie Wendt
So. | Jumps | Rochester, Minn.
- Took runner-up at the 2021 indoor championships in the long jump with a mark of 19-02 (5.84m)
- Finished in seventh in the triple jump at the indoor championships with a mark of 37-03.25 (11.36m)
- Was named the 2020 Newcomer of the Championship at the league indoor championships
