JACKS HEAD TO VERMILLION FOR WEEKEND MEET

The South Dakota State track and field program travels to Vermillion for the USD Early Bird Saturday. The meet is set to begin with field events at 10:30 a.m.and running events starting at 12:30.
A free live stream will be here and live stats are available here. There will be no tickets sold for the event.
Competition for the USD Early Bird will come from Northern Iowa, Omaha, South Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, Iowa Central CC, Iowa Western CC, Minot State, Northern State, Southwest Minnesota State and U-Mary. There will also be a handful of non-collegians competing from Iron Wood TC.
LAST TIME OUT
Teams were split last weekend, with sprint and jump groups at the ORU Invite in Tulsa, Okla., throws and distance squads went to Des Moines, Iowa for the Blue Oval Invite and four distance athletes traveled to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State.
SUMMIT LEAGUE LEADERS
After the Jacks' opening weekend, Coby Hilton leads the league in the 100m dash with a 10.45, Thomas Breuckman leads with a 1500 mark of 3:49.35, Josh Yeager holds a conference-best 5K time of 13:53.11, Chase Cayo leads in the 10K with a 30:36.65 and Emmanuel Phoulom Smith holds a 55.60 400m hurdles mark. On the women's side, Jaiden Boomsma leads the league with a 12.02 in the 100m dash, Ellie Friesen holds a leading 5K mark of 16:50.95, Emily Altenburg leads with a 19-0.00 in the long jump and Annie Wendt leads the Summit League in the triple jump with a mark of 39-4.00.
