CAREER BESTS HIGHLIGHT WEEKEND MEETS

SDSU's hectic weekend of four meets in four states over four days came to a close Sunday. When the dust settled, two SDSU student-athletes recorded school records and plenty other Jackrabbits recorded personal and season-best marks.
GRAND VALLEY STATE EXTRA MEET | Grand Valley State - Allendale, Mich.
Originally slated for Friday and Saturday and ultimately moved mainly to Sunday, the Bobcat Classic saw another SDSU school record broken and some of the fastest Jackrabbit times in program history. Coby Hilton recorded the fastest 200 time of his career when he clocked a 20.63 in the event and chipped away at his own school record. In the 100m dash, Daniel Clarke secured a third place finish when he crossed the line at 10.65. Over the hurdles, Pierre Lear finished in 14.56 for fourth in the 110m race and a 57.02 eighth place finish. Nick Wessels clocked a 14.66 110m time and Evan Hieber recorded a PR of 15.12. Reid Pierzinski ran a 51.66 over the 400m hurdles.Â
The SDSU 4x100 of Emmanuel Phoulom-Smith, Trey Tiefenthaler, Daniel Clarke and Coby Hilton recorded a speedy 40.37, good enough for third all-time at State.Â
Evan Hieber also took the weekend to prepare for the decathlon at the Summit League Championships and entered in both the long jump and the high jump. He recorded a 6-04.75 leap in the high jump for third place and took 10th in the long jump with a 21-06.75 marking. Also in the men's long jump, Daniel Clarke took home first place honors with a jump of 23-08.25, Tre Manning recorded a 23-01.25 for third and Tiefenthaler took seventh with a 22-02.25 and a triple jump of 46.02.75 for first in the event. Trent Francom jumped to a victory with a vault of 17-08.50.
Rich-Ann Archer collected two personal best performances with her short sprint races. She ran a 11.94 for sixth in the 100m dash, a time that ranks fifth all-time in program history. In the 200, she ran a 24.21 for eighth place and is now tied for second on SDSU's all-time list. Also running the 100, Jaiden Boomsma came in tenth with a 12.11. In the 200, Hannah Whitbread clocked a 25.27 for 15th, Collette Wolfe finished right behind in 16th with a 25.32, Lauren Van Dyke ran a 25.51 for 17th and Jaymie O'Connor finished 19th with a 25.64.
Whitbread (5th) and Van Dyke (8th) were back at it for the 400, this time finishing with times of 56.53 and 57.33, respectively. Over the 100 hurdles, Haley Mottinger finished third with a 14.12 and Collette Wolfe marked a 15.23 for 12th. The women's 4x100 of Mottinger, Wolfe, O'Connor and Boomsma recorded a 47.10 for fifth in the event.Â
In the jumping events, Addison Eisenbeisz recorded a leap of 5-07.00 and in the long jump, Annie Wendt took fourth with a 18-11.75 marking, Emma Stewart finished in sixth with a 18-10.75, Emily Altenburg recorded a 18-10.00 for seventh and Jaiden Boomsma took 12th with a 18-11.75.
MASANZ CLASSIC | Minnesota State University Moorhead - Moorhead, Minn.
Cameron Kuil recorded a third place finish in the men's 200 with a 22.33 clocking and fifth in the 400 with a 51.93. Andrew Moeller took seventh in the 800 with a 1:57.62 and Nathan Notgrass followed with a 2:01.22. In the men's 1,500, Riley Bauer ran a PR of 3:59.91 for fourth and Nathan Notgrass ran a 4:09.68. In the 110 hurdles, Josh Donahoe ran a PR of 15.45, Andrew Law ran a 15.77 PR for fifth and Noah Strako ran a 16.13 for 10th in the event. In the 400 hurdles, Josh Donahoe turned in a 57.46 for sixth, Braxton Karnik ran a 57.48 PR for seventh and Andrew Law ran a 1:01.94 for 12th. Conner Powers soared to sixth with a high jump mark of 6-00.50, Matthew Katz vaulted 14-11.50 for second, Josh Donahoe long jumped 19-02.75, Russel Pierzinski triple jumped a 42-03.50 and Bryce Ludwig threw a 143-00.00 in the discus (5th) and 152-09.00 in the hammer (7th).Â
It was a day for double PRs in the short sprints for Madelyn Sanda, Ashtyn Bertram and Ciara Benson. Sanda took second in the 100m dash with a 12.18 mark and took third in the 200 with a 25.23, Bertam ran a 12.48 (5th) and a 28.56 (6th) and Benson finished 12th with a 12.87 and 16th with a 27.11. Also recording 100m dash PRs were Shae Campbell (15th, 13.11) and Sydney Leidholt (16th, 13.16). Leidholt also ran a personal-best in the 110 hurdles where she clocked a 15.90 for 11th. Grabbing another 200 PR for the Jacks was Katelyn Darnell who ran a 25.87 for seventh, Emily Rystrom (12th, 26.43), Lizzy Gillingham (14th, 26.65). Kendyl Kreber clocked a 28.39 in the event as well.
Also over the 110m hurdles, Darnell turned in a 15.34 for fifth, Savannah Risseeuw ran a 14.50 for first and Kendyl Kreber ran a 15.89 PR for 10th. Savannah Risseeuw ran a 1:05.33 for third in the 400 hurdles. Over the steeple barriers, Janean Hanka ran a 11:44.29 in the for fourth and Malorie Schmoll ran a 11:51.00 for fifth.
In the field events, Madison Kizer jumped to 5-04.25 for first and Maddie Mingo took sixth in the event with a leap of 5-00.25. Darnell leaped a 15-07.00 in the long jump, Kreber jumped a 15-06.00 and Emma Smith recorded a 14-10.00. Sophie Bisgard recorded a 37-08.50 in the triple jump, while Cameron Brinkman jumped a 35-00.25 and Smith recorded a 33-04.75. Paige Haakenson hurled a 38-07.00 in the women's shot put and 10th in the event. Johanna Johnson threw a 121-09.00 mark in discus, While Kaley Waldemar heaved a 120-02.00. Women's hammer throw saw Micayla Ter Wee record a PR of 177-08.00 which ranks her eighth all-time at State. Naomi Wynn took 162-02.00 for seventh, Miranda Zinola tossed a 158-06.00 for 10th and Caitlin Thilges recorded a 157-05.00 for 11th. In javelin, Paige Haakenson launched a 100-01.00 for 13th and Alex Dynes took 23rd with a 71-02.00.Â
WSC Wildcat Chal|enge |Â Wayne State College - Wayne, Neb.
A small group of Jacks made the trip to Wayne, Neb. for the WSC Challenge. There, Meghan Hettinga threw a shot put mark of 43-06.00, Faith Leiseth followed close behind with a 43-05.00 and Alexis Schmidt recorded a 41-01.50. In discus, Schmidt picked up a PR with 154-02.00 for third in the event, True Thorne tossed a 142-04.00 and Hettinga threw for 137-04.00. In the hammer throw, Ter Wee recorded a 162-08.00. On the men's side, Tyson Jenkins heaved a 56-02.50 for first in the event and Sam Coil recorded a 56-02.50 for second. Noah Huber threw a 167-04.00 in discus for a second place finish and Austin Eppard took third with a launch of 166-11.00. Finally, Huber threw a 187-00.00 for fifth and Calob Jones tossed for 171-07.00 for sixth.

Joshua Yeager recorded SDSU's first broken record of the weekend Friday night when he ran a 13:42.82 for second place in the men's 5,000 and passed Joel Reichow's 2017 mark of 13:53.05. Behind him, Chase Cayo ran a PR of 14:10.42 and is now the eighth-fastest in SDSU history. Carter Knaus ran a 9:20.18 for sixth in the 3000 steeplechase for a career-best and the men's 1500 was loaded with Jackrabbits as Lukas Nelson ran a 3:47.85 for fourth, Daniel Burkhalter ran a 3:49.82 for eighth, Thomas Breuckman finished in 3:50.48 for tenth and Gabe Peters ran a 3:53.24 for 13th.Â
