WR NWCA Academic Teaser 2021 -- Clay Carlson, Cade DeVos, Caleb Gross

MANHEIM, Pa. — Three South Dakota State wrestlers were recently honored as 2021 Scholar All-Americans by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Earning the distinction were:
• Clay Carlson, sophomore, animal science/pre-veterinary medicine;
• Cade DeVos, redshirt freshman, pre-pharmacy; and
• Caleb Gross, redshirt freshman, civil engineering.

Both Carlson and DeVos were national qualifiers, with Carlson earning All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the 141-pound division at the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in St. Louis.

The Jackrabbits also were recognized as a Top 30 Scholar All-American Team. SDSU ranked 14^th among Division I programs with a 3.4178 team grade-point average.
