FUNDRAISING RECORD SET IN 2021

South Dakota State University Athletics celebrated a banner year on the fundraising side during the 2021 calendar year, generating a record total of more than $42 million from 4,169 donors.
Facility enhancements made up the largest portion of the donations due in part to Frost Arena renovations, including a lead naming-rights gift of $20 million from First Bank & Trust. Included with the facility improvements, ground-breaking took place in September for the Frank J. Kurtenbach Family Wrestling Center, which is currently under construction.
In addition, the Jackrabbit Athletic Scholarship Auction raised more $1 million for the fifth year in a row and the Jackrabbit Club surpassed $1.5 million in annual support.
"The way our donors, fans and stakeholders continue to raise the bar to support our university and our athletics program is nothing short of extraordinary," SDSU Director of Athletics Justin Sell said. "This level of support not only contributes to championships today, but sets the foundation for long-term success, as well."
Jackrabbit Athletics will continue to work alongside the SDSU Foundation on its record-setting Bold & Blue campaign, which was announced this past October. The SDSU Foundation also had a record year in 2021, raising over $121.6 million. Athletics contributions of $42 million is included in that total.
The $500 million Bold & Blue comprehensive campaign focuses on elevating the university's people, places, traditions and innovations.
