Cailee Peterson broke the SDSU school record for the women's mile run as South Dakota State track and field teams competed at the Adidas Classic in Lincoln, Neb. on Saturday.

Peterson, a junior from Mayville, N.D., crossed the finish line in 4:46.15 in the mile run to better the previous record set by Rachel King in 2018.
Jessica Christoffer also took third in the event in a career-best 4:57.26.

Caitlin Bright finished in third place in the 3000-meter run with a career-best time of 10:00.37.

In the 800-meter run, three Jackrabbits placed in the top five, led by
Tori Glazier's second place finish in 2:16.85.
Jaide Geurts took fourth in 217:06 and
Claire Beckman took fifth in 2:17.52.

Cerington Jones finished in fifth place in her first career 400-meter dash in 57.64 seconds while
Rich-Ann Archer took third in the 60-meter dash in 7.53 seconds.

On the men's side,
Jared Wipf won the 60-meter dash in 6.80 seconds, a personal best and third fastest time in school history.

Thailan Hallman took fifth in the 400-meter dash in 50.15 seconds, which tied his career best.

Jackrabbits dominated in the men's mile and 3000-meter run. Four runners from SDSU placed in the top six in the mile, led by Tom Breuckman's second place finish in a career-best 4:05.99 that places him fifth on the all-time list.
Josh Becker took third in 4:10.35 for a personal best,
Gabe Peters finished in fifth place in 4:10.39 for a career best and
Daniel Burkhalter took sixth in 4:10.75.

In the 3000-meter run, three Jacks placed in the top six.
Max Selbach finished as runner-up in a career-best 8:24.28,
Ben Anteau took fourth in 8:33.25 in his first career race in the event and
Cormick Logue crossed the finish line in 8:40.13 for a career best and sixth place.

Dominick Etherington continued his success in the shot put, earning fourth place with his throw of 55-01.00.Â
