MINNEAPOLIS, MN –
Pierre Lear and
Jake Werner represented the South Dakota State University track squads in high fashion at the Ice Breaker Open & Multi at the University of Minnesota Field House.
Werner kicked off the success by earning the title of runner-up in the men's 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 6.98 seconds for a season best.
Lear then followed in electric fashion as he again broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles. He clocked a blistering time of 7.91 seconds and has now broken the event record three times this calendar year.
Each of the athletes then competed in the 200-meter dash, where Werner placed third overall in 22.14 seconds and Lear tied for ninth in 22.83 seconds for a personal best.
UP NEXT: SDSU is scheduled to return to action Jan. 14 at the NDSU Bison Team Cup in Fargo, ND.
