BROOKINGS, S.D.- South Dakota State's track teams each clinched first place at the Indoor Classic over the weekend in the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

The Jackrabbit men finished with 44 points, leading Augustana who finished in second with 21 points and MSU-Moorhead who took third with 14 points.

SDSU's women won with 33.70 points, sliding past Iowa Western CC who finished with 33 points in second place and Augustana who claimed third with 29.20 points.

The two-day meet was full of top 10 finishes and personal bests for the team, which started Friday night with the 3000-meter run.
Bailey Dergan claimed second place in 10:18.88, which was a career-best time.
Â
Later that night,
Leah Hansen dominated the 5000-meter run in 16:30.74 for first place. Her time is also a career best, the second fastest time in school history and is the fastest time in the Summit League so far this season.

In the men's 5000-meter,
Joseph Minor-Williams took second place in 14:17.08 for a career best. His time was the third fastest in school history and is the fastest time in the league this season.
Ben Olson grabbed fifth in 14:24.27 and
Gabe Peters earned sixth in a career-best 14:25.38 in the same event.

Saturday's success kicked off with
Wendy van Nes tying for third place in pole vault with her clearance of 11-09.75 as
Annie Wendt leapt her way into fourth place in the long jump with a jump of 17-04.75.

Addison Eisenbeisz had herself a successful day, tying for second in the high jump with a clearance of 5-05.00 while also earning fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 36-07.50.

Faith Leiseth earned the title crown in shot put with her monster career-best throw of 49-01.00, which is second best all-time as
Naomi Wynn took fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 58-03.25.

On the track,
Savannah Risseeuw claimed third in the 60-meter hurdle finals in 8.64 seconds, which was a personal best and is the second fastest time on record at SDSU.
Brielle Dixon took fifth in the finals in 8.80 seconds.

In the 60-meter dash finals,
Rich-Ann Archer led the way for the Jackrabbit, racing to second place in 7.51 seconds. Also in the finals,
Collette Wolfe earned fourth in 7.69 seconds.

Archer also claimed second place in the 200-meter dash in 24.80 seconds as Wolfe grabbed fifth in 25.46 seconds.

Four SDSU runners placed in the top 10 of the women's 800-meter run.
Oksana Johnson grabbed third place in 2:10.77,
Tori Glazier took fifth in a career-best 2:12.66 that is also the sixth fastest time in school history and
Claire Beckman claimed sixth in 2:13.56 for a career best and eighth on the all-time list.
Jaide Geurts rounded out the top placers with eighth place in a career-best 2:14.49.

In the mile run, three Jackrabbits placed in the top 10.
Caitlin Bright led the way, grabbing sixth place with her personal best time of 4:59.64.
Jessica Christoffer took eighth in 5:00.74 as
Nicole Greyer claimed ninth in 5:01.33.

SDSU's A 4x400 team of Johnson,
Cerington Jones,
Emily Rystrom and
Hannah Whitbread nabbed third place with their time of 3:56.29.

Over on the men's side,
Pierre Lear, who set a PR in the 60-meter hurdle prelims earlier in the day, set another PR in the finals as he claimed second place in 8.14 seconds, also the fourth fastest time on record.
Josh Donahoe grabbed seventh place in 8.44 seconds in the same race.

The 60-meter dash final was a very tight race, as
Jared Wipf took fourth in 6.92 seconds, Manny Phoulom-Smith claimed sixth in 6.95 seconds and
Jake Werner grabbed eighth in 6.97 seconds.

Werner found success again the 200-meter dash, claiming second in a career-best 21.72 seconds, now fourth on the all-time list. In the same race,
Reid Pierzinski grabbed third in 21.82 seconds for a personal best as Phoulom-Smith took fifth in 22.00 seconds.

Pierzinski took control in the 400-meter dash, racing his way to first place in 47.31 seconds, a personal best and the second fastest time in school history. Â

In the 800-meter run,
Daniel Burkhalter nabbed the runner-up spot with a career-best time of 1:52.39 as
Andrew Moeller earned fifth in 1:54.14 for a career best, as well.

SDSU dominated in the mile run, claiming the top four spots.
Ben Olson led the way as he claimed first place in 4:06.07, a career best and the sixth fastest time on record. Tom Breuckman took second in 4:07.81, Burkhalter grabbed third with a career-best time of 4:08.05 for tenth fastest all time as
Gabe Peters finished in a personal best 4:09.39 for fourth.

In the weight throw,
Hunter Wallster led a trio of Jackrabbits to top 10 finishes. Wallster claimed fifth with a career-best throw of 55-02.75.
Dominick Etherington took sixth with his throw of 55-02.25 as
Austin Eppard finished in seventh with a throw of 54-04.75.

Dawson Schroeder took the crown in the shot put with his throw of 54-07.25. Etherington claimed fifth with a throw of 52-11.00.

Trent Francom took first in the pole vault with his clearance of 17-05.50 as
Matthew Katz tied for second with a career-best 15-11.75 and Jaden Peter claimed fourth with a career-best 15-00.00.

While the action was hot in Brookings,
Cailee Peterson was representing the yellow and blue at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa. She raced her way into 12
th place in the mile run with a time of 4:51.66.
