South Dakota State forward Matt Dentlinger earned his third career selection to the 2021-22 Academic All-District 6 Men's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America and announced Thursday. He will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration next month.

A junior from Arcadia, Iowa, Dentlinger graduated last spring with a 3.99 grade-point average in mechanical engineering and currently holds a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student. He has played in played in all 27 games for the Jackrabbits this season with 14 starts and is averaging 6.0 points and 2.9 rebounds for the Summit League-leading squad.

Dentlinger went on to be named a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-America Third Team during the 2020-21 season.

To be eligible for CoSIDA academic awards, nominees must carry at least a 3.3 GPA, be a starter or key reserve and must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing. District 6 is made up of student-athletes competing for Division I institutions in Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
