SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Jackrabbit softball shut out UC Riverside Sunday afternoon to wrap up the Torero Classic with a 3-0 victory. SDSU moves to 6-4 on the season.
Tori Kniesche picked up her fourth win of the year in a five-inning, 10-strikeout outing. She single-handedly took care of the Highlanders in the third inning, striking out all three batters. Kniesche allowed three hits and two walks before being relieved by
Grace Glanzer for the final two frames. Glanzer allowed just one walk and no hits while striking out one.
Jocelyn Carrillo doubled in the fifth inning to put herself in scoring position for the Jackrabbits. Carrillo was sent home by her sister,
Rozelyn Carrillo, who also doubled on the next at bat.

Caelyn Christiancy. A defensive error by UC Riverside in the seventh allowed the final Jackrabbit run, tallied by
Rozelyn Carrillo.
Rozelyn Carrillo and
Peyton Daugherty recorded two hits each for the Jacks while Culver,
Jocelyn Carrillo and
Cheyanne Masterson had one apiece.
UC Riverside's Chrys Hildebrand is tagged with the loss. She struck out six batters and allowed six hits with one run in five innings of work.
NOTES
- Saturday's game was the third 10+ strikeout game for Tori Kniesche this season and the 12th of her career.
- Daugherty has five multi-hit games this season, Rozelyn Carrillo has four.
UP NEXT
SDSU will travel to Denton, Texas next weekend for the UNT Invitational hosted by North Texas. State will open the tournament with Yale Friday morning at 11 a.m.
