SANTA BARBARA, CALIF - South Dakota State softball wrapped up the Santa Barbara Spring Break Bash 6-0 Monday with a pair of wins over Manhattan. The Jackrabbits (15-7) hit five home runs Monday and have 26 on the season.
Game 1 vs. Manhattan - W, 11-0
Cylie Halvorson and
Kelsey Lenox powered the Jackrabbits to victory over Manhattan in the first game of the day. The duo combined for four home runs (two each) in the first two innings alone to help SDSU build an 8-0 lead after just two frames.
Emma Osmundson notched a pair of RBI doubles, one in the first and one in the fourth, while
Lindsey Culver and
Mia Jarecki had an RBI each in the run-rule win.
Halvorson led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with five RBIs. Osmundson, Lenox, Culver and
Peyton Daugherty also had multi-hit games for the Jackrabbits.
Grace Glanzer and
Emma Hardin combined for the shutout in the circle. Glanzer takes the win with six strikeouts and no walks allowed in three innings of work. Hardin took over for the final two frames and struck out one with no walks.
Game 2 vs. Manhattan - W, 6-3
The Jacks got started early again in game two.
Lindsey Culver blasted a three-run homer to left field in the opening inning for the 3-0 Jackrabbit lead after one. Culver drove in another run on her next at-bat with a sacrifice fly to score Daugherty.
Manhattan put up one run in the second, fourth and fifth to pull within one run of the Jackrabbits. A two-RBI double by Jarecki in the sixth sealed the game 6-3 for SDSU.
Halvorson and Culver notched a pair of hits each and Culver had four RBIs.
Morgan DeMarais earned her first win of the season in four innings of work.
Tori Kniesche entered the game in the sixth inning and picked up the save. Kniesche struck out all five batters she faced.

- SDSU has shut out six opponents this season.
- Cylie Halvorson has eight home runs on the season.
- Osmundson batted .484 at the Spring Break Bash with nine hits, both team highs.
- Halvorson tallied eight RBIs at the Spring Break Bash, the most on the team.
