Game 1 vs. CSUN - W, 5-1
South Dakota State used four unearned runs and a strong pitching effort from

The Jackrabbits scored twice in the opening frame, first off an RBI single by
Cylie Halvorson and then from a CSUN fielding error. With
Peyton Daugherty on second base, Halvorson's single made it through the infield to allow Daugherty to reach home.
Cheyanne Masterson reached on a fielding error later in the inning to plate Halvorson's winning run.
Halvorson reached base again in the second inning, this time on another CSUN fielding error, which allowed
Emma Osmundson and Daugherty to go home for the 4-0 lead. Halvorson tacked on one more unearned run for the Jacks on a
Lindsey Culver RBI ground out.
CSUN's only run of the game, also unearned, came in the bottom half of the second inning as the result of a passed ball.
Daugherty and Osmundson tallied two hits each to combine for four of SDSU's seven hits in game one.
