Trent Francom, a senior pole vaulter from Huron, will represent South Dakota State track and field at the upcoming 2022 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships March 11-12.

Francom is set to compete at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Francom enters the championships currently sitting in 12^th place nationally in the event with a vault of 17-11.00 (5.46 meters). This is his second consecutive trip to the national championships.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham and the City of Birmingham will host the championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex. ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 10 a.m. CT Friday, March 11 and starting at 10:30 a.m. CT Saturday, March 12. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 8:30 p.m. CT Sunday, March 13 on ESPNU.
