South Dakota State continues the Summit League season with its home opener this weekend against Western Illinois.
The Jackrabbits are 23-9 on the year and 4-2 in Summit League play. SDSU went 2-1 in Vermillion last weekend, dropping game one against the Coyotes before bouncing back to win games two and three 20-0 and 4-1.
Twenty runs in a game is a school record for the Jackrabbit program while
Rozelyn Carrillo's seven RBIs is also an individual program best.
South Dakota State leads the Summit League in batting average (.297), ERA (2.38), home runs (37), on-base percentage (.373) and slugging percentage (.475).
SDSU's pitching staff is holding opponents to a .222 batting average, which ranks second among Summit League teams.
Tori Kniesche ranks second in the league in strikeouts with 137 and in ERA at 1.97.
Grace Glanzer's 12 wins lead the league and her 2.46 ERA ranks fourth.

- The Jackrabbits are 25-3 in Summit League games over the past two seasons.
- Rozelyn Carrillo is the reigning Summit League Player of the Week after the sophomore batted .556 in the series at South Dakota. She had eight RBIs, a pair of home runs (including a grand slam) two walks and a sacrifice fly.

- Cylie Halvorson's eight home runs leads the team and rank second in The Summit League. She had 19 last season, a new school record.
- Tori Kniesche is 10-5 on the year with a 1.97 ERA. She has struck out 10+ batters in seven of her 18 appearances this season.
- Tori Kniesche is averaging 1.42 strikeouts per inning and 9.05 strikeouts per seven innings.
- Grace Glanzer was the winning pitcher in each of the last two games of the South Dakota series to improve to 12-3 on the season. She has a 2.25 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 96.1 innings pitched.
- SDSU returns all nine all-Summit players from a season ago, including Player of the Year Cylie Halvorson, Pitcher of the Year Tori Kniesche and Freshman of the Year Grace Glanzer.
