SIOUX FALLS — Summit League officials announced Saturday that the St. Thomas-South Dakota State baseball series will return to a three-game set after the Tommies cleared COVID-19 protocols.
Â
The required negative test results to clear the Tommies for Sunday's doubleheader came back earlier than anticipated, allowing St. Thomas to arrive in Brookings in time to be able to complete the entire series.
Â
The first game of the series will now be played at 4 p.m. today (Saturday) at Erv Huether Field and followed by a noon doubleheader on Sunday. Please note that the remainder of the SDSU campus remains closed to further assess recent storm damage and no indoor facilities will be available, although portable toilets will be on site.
Â
Gates for Saturday's game will open at 3 p.m. Fans attending this weekend's games are asked to access the stadium from the north off the U.S. Highway 14 bypass (Interstate 29 Exit 133) and park in the lots directly west of Erv Huether Field.
Â
The Summit League Softball Championship, which began in Brookings earlier this week, was shifted to Vermillion and the campus of the University of South Dakota in order for that event to be completed in its entirety.
