FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Three members of the South Dakota State track and field squad saw their seasons end at the NCAA West Prelims Saturday at John McDonnell Field on the University of Arkansas campus.
Faith Leiseth finished 42nd overall in the the discus throw. She recorded a 46.82-meter mark on her first throw of the afternoon and was 13th in the second flight.
Cailee Peterson, a senior, placed 17th in the 1500 meters. She crossed the finish line in 4:24.96, less than five seconds behind the final qualifying time.
Leah Hansen was slated to run in the 1500 meters but was listed as "did not start".
