Jackrabbit Club members contributed a record $1.85 million during the most recent fiscal year, South Dakota State University officials announced Thursday.
"With numerous conference championships, memorable postseason runs and earning a whole host of individual awards, we just completed arguably our most successful year of competition," Director of Athletics Justin Sell said. "Between facility improvement projects, a record-setting Jackrabbit Athletic Scholarship Auction and now a new standard for the Jackrabbit Club, fans and friends of our program have stepped up in so many ways."
The dollar amount represents a 10 percent increase over the previous record (2018-19) and a 28 percent increase from the previous fiscal year. In addition, membership in the Jackrabbit Club grew to more to more than 2,100 donors, with 277 increasing their contribution classification under the newly established Level Up program.
"The amount of support here at South Dakota State continues to amaze me," said Senior Associate Athletic Director Nathan Christensen said. "The success that we achieve on the field and in the classroom would not be possible without the critical funds that are raised by the Jackrabbit Club. On behalf of more than 400 student-athletes, as well as our coaches and staff, I thank everyone that made this possible."
Annual membership in the Jackrabbit Club remains the most fundamental way to support SDSU student-athletes, with the annual fund supporting just over one-third of SDSU Athletics' $4.5 million scholarship bill. Each dollar given to the Jackrabbit Club is a direct investment in Jackrabbit student-athletes.
In addition to supporting student-athlete scholarships, Jackrabbit Club members enjoy a host of great benefits throughout the athletics calendar. Benefits include priority parking and seating at Jackrabbit home games, inside access to their favorite SDSU programs, invitations to exclusive events, discounts at select local businesses, and more.
