NEW ORLEANS — Both the South Dakota State men's and women's track and field squads have been honored as 2022 NCAA All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, with seven Jackrabbits also earning individual distinction as All-Academic Athletes.

The SDSU women's squad posted a 3.598 cumulative team grade-point average through the spring semester, while the Jackrabbit men's team compiled a 3.256 cumulative team GPA. Teams must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify for the award.

Both Jackrabbit squads have earned the team academic award every year since the 2010 season.

The following five Jackrabbit student-athletes from the women's squad and two from the men's team were recognized as All-Academic Athletes:

To qualify for the individual award, honorees must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA and must have completed a minimum of two semesters at the institution for which they competed in 2022. In addition, honorees must have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 of any championship individual event or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, with outdoor competitors having competed in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships or finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the multi-events in their respective region.
