PARADISE ISLAND, the Bahamas - The Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament bracket has been released. South Dakota State women's basketball opens the tournament against UCLAÂ at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, November 19.
The full tournament takes place November 19-21 in Paradise Island, Bahamas. In addition to SDSU and UCLA, the tournament field also includes Gonzaga, Louisville, Marquette, Rutgers, Tennessee and Texas. Six participating teams, including the Jackrabbits, were either ranked or receiving votes in the final WBCA Coaches Poll of the 2021-22 season.
SDSU is familiar with UCLA as the teams played twice last season. The first meeting came at the Gulf Coast Showcase Thanksgiving weekend, where the Jacks knocked off the then-No. 15 Bruins, 76-66. The teams met again in the semifinal round of the WNIT with the Jackrabbits winning 62-59 at Frost Arena.
On Sunday, November 20, South Dakota State will take on either Tennessee or Rutgers. The two winners from Saturday's games will play at 11 a.m. CT Sunday while the two losers will play 4 p.m. CT.
Monday will feature the championship (11 a.m. CT), third-place (1:30 p.m. CT), fifth-place (5 p.m.) and seventh-place (6:30 p.m. CT) games.
Battle 4 Atlantis has hosted a men's tournament in Paradise for more than a decade and added a women's tournament for the first time in 2021. The inaugural championship game saw then-No. 1 South Carolina take on then-No. 2 UConn.
