BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Summit League announced its 2023 Women's Soccer All-League Teams on Thursday and a trio of South Dakota State Jackrabbits were chosen as recipients.

Junior
Avery Murdzek was chosen to the All-Summit League First Team and was picked as the conference's Midfielder of the Year. It's just the second year the award has been handed out by The Summit League.Â

Murdzek ended the regular season by scoring a team-high six goals and recording an SDSU-best 15 points. She produced a team-high 46 shots on the year and finished second with 18 shots on goal. Her shot total ranks second among Summit League players and her point total was sixth overall. In conference action, Murdzek tied for a team best with seven points and three goals, while also registering a .429 shots on goal percentage.Â

The SDSU midfielder claimed her first All-Summit League First Team honors of her career following back-to-back seasons of Second Team laurels. Murdzek was also a member of The Summit League's All-Newcomer Team and was the Newcomer of the Year in the conference in 2021.Â

Joining Murdzek on the All-Summit League First Team was
Kaycee Manding. The junior defender earned repeat honors to the All-Summit League First Team after playing a team-high 1,432 minutes across 17 regular season matches. Manding scored five of her six points this season during Summit League action. She produced eight shots out of the back row for the Jackrabbits in league play and had a .625 shots on goal percentage. She was a member of a defensive unit that led The Summit League in goals-against average on the season with a 0.82 clip.Â

SDSU's third all-conference selection in 2023 was
Laney Murdzek who was tabbed to the All-Summit League Second Team.
Laney Murdzek scored seven points on the season thanks to five assists and a lone goal that came in conference action. Her five total assists ranked second in The Summit League this year. Also a midfielder for the Jacks,
Laney Murdzek was a 2021 All-Newcomer Team selection and 2022 All-Summit League First Team choice.Â

SDSU recipients on The Summit League's All-Newcomer Team were
Katelyn Beulke and
Jadenn Carrillo. Beulke tied for the team high in scoring during conference play with seven points on three goals and an assist. The freshman forward for the Jackrabbits had a .429 shots on goal percentage against Summit League opposition. Carrillo scored two goals for the Jackrabbits in conference play. In 17 games played during the regular season, Carrillo scored the second most points on the team with 11 points with five goals and an assist. The graduate transfer produced a team-high 19 shots on goal on the year and had the top shots on goal percentage on the SDSU roster with a .655 mark.Â

The two SDSU forwards were honorable mentions to The All-Summit League Teams along with
Reagan Anderson and
Hayley Lindaman. Both Anderson and Lindaman were All-Summit League Second Team choices a season ago. Anderson and Lindaman each started in every game they played in this year while the defensive midfielder and defender, respectively, led the Jackrabbits in minutes played during conference action.Â

South Dakota State makes its debut in The 2023 Summit League Championship tournament this weekend. The Jackrabbits will face the winner of Friday's No. 3 Oral Roberts versus No. 6 Kansas City match at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Fishback Soccer Park.  Â
