ST. LOUIS — For the second week in a row, South Dakota State has the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week. Monday, left tackle Garret Greenfield received the award, following the selection the previous week of Mason McCormick.
A senior from Rock Valley, Iowa, Greenfield graded at 93 percent and was credited with five finish blocks in South Dakota State's 40-21 victory at No. 22 Illinois State on Oct. 7. The Jackrabbits rushed for 374 yards in the game against a Redbird defense that had been allowing only 58 yards per game on the ground. Both Isaiah Davis (20 carries for 197 yards) and Amar Johnson (11 carries for 106 yards) topped the century mark as the Jackrabbits averaged 8.6 yards per carry on the evening. Davis was honored earlier Monday as the MVFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Top-ranked SDSU hosts Northern Iowa in the annual Hobo Day game Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.
