MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Members of the SDSU men's track and field team competed in the M City Indoor Classic on Friday, accruing nine top-five finishes across six events at the University of Minnesota Fieldhouse.
The pole vault duo of
Jaden Peters and
Matt Katz kicked things off as they claimed the top two spots in the event. Peters won with a clearance of 15-09.25 as Katz took runner-up with a 15-03.50.
Pierre Lear won his heat of the 60-meter hurdles to qualify for the event finals, where he placed fourth overall with a clocking of 8.19.
Jared Wipf and
Jake Werner represented SDSU in the finals of the 60-meter dash as Wipf tied his PR of 6.80 to win the event and Werner took third with a 6.94.
The duo also competed in the 200-meter dash, where Wipf again won the event with a 22.10 and Werner ran a 22.13 to finish third.
Jeremiah Donahoe clocked a 51.40 in the men's 400-meter dash for a fourth place overall finish.
Finally,
Connor Powers cleared a height of 6-06.00 for third place in the high jump.
UP NEXT: SDSU is scheduled to return to action on Jan. 13 at the Bison Team Cup in Fargo, ND.
