South Dakota State takes its season-best five-game win streak to Omaha as the Jackrabbits gear up to face the Mavericks in Baxter Arena on Saturday. The matchup is the second between the two sides this season with SDSU winning the first meeting, 84-61, in Brookings on Jan. 19.

The Jackrabbits took control of the Jan. 19 contest seven minutes into the game in Frost Arena. SDSU led by 15 at halftime and its smallest lead the rest of the way was nine. The Jacks shot 53.6% from the floor and 54.5% from 3-point range.
Zeke Mayo scored 31 points and he was followed by
Alex Arians (16) and
William Kyle III (12).Â

SDSU is coming off another 10-plus point comeback victory with the Jackrabbits defeating Denver 80-75 on Thursday. The Jacks trailed 59-41 at the 13:12 mark of the second half before mounting a rally. The Jackrabbits' 18-point comeback is their second largest of the season behind their 23-point response versus Eastern Washington on Dec. 10. The Jacks also had a 13-point comeback win at North Dakota on Jan. 7.

Mayo's 21.9 points in Summit play paces SDSU. He's scored in double digits in all conference games but the opener at Oral Roberts. Dentlinger averages 13.6 points and a team-best 5.8 rebounds in league competition. Right behnd them are Kyle III (9.6) and Arians (9.1).Â

The Jacks have earned 13 straight victories in the month of February dating back to the 2020-21 season. That active stretch of wins in the month is the longest among all Division I men's basketball programs.

Omaha ended a nine-game skid on Thursday when the Mavs beat South Dakota 80-72. Frankie Fidler, who averages a team-high 14.6 points, scored 27 against the Coyotes. The Mavs are 8-20 overall and are 4-12 in The Summit League.
