EATONTON, Ga. - South Dakota State's
Piper Stubbs finished in a tie for fourth place to lead the Jacks at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite this weekend at the Great Waters Golf Course.Â
Stubbs, a sophomore, tallied a 220 (+4) final scorecard over the 54-hole event. She fired a 73 (+1) and 72 (E) on days one and two, then a 75 (+3) on the final 18 holes. Stubbs opened Sunday with eight consecutive par holes and finished with a pair of birdies and three holes over par.
Shakira-Ann Kuys had next best finish for SDSU. She recorded a 237 (+21) final tally with her best single-round being the last - a 77 (+2) to end up in a tie for 51st place.
Alex Kandolin,
McKenzie Mages and
Tatum Depuydt also saved their best rounds for last. Kandolin posted a 75 (+3) Sunday, bringing her total to 239 (+23) for a t-56th place finish. Mages shot an even-par 72 and finished in 62nd (242, +26) while Depuydt recorded a 76 (+4) Sunday and placed t-66th (249, +33).
SDSU placed 11th in the final team standings with a 937 (+73) tally. Georgia Southern won the team title.
