South Dakota State continues its Summit League schedule as the Jackrabbits take on North Dakota at NDSU's Tharaldson Park in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday. The initially scheduled three-game series slated for Grand Forks has been altered because of unfavorable field conditions and recent weather in the region.

The Jackrabbits, who are 27-15 overall, have won all nine of their conference matchups this season heading into the doubleheader against the Fighting Hawks. SDSU holds a 60-31 all-time edge over North Dakota and has won seven straight contests in the series. North Dakota heads into the doubleheader at 5-6 in conference action and won two of three in its most recent series versus St. Thomas. The Fighting Hawks are 8-33 overall on the season. Two weeks of the 2023 regular season remain after this weekend's games. SDSU heads to Kansas City from April 29-30, then hosts South Dakota from May 5-6 in Brookings.

South Dakota State extended its active win streak to 11 games over North Dakota state as the Jacks swept NDSU from April 15-16 in Brookings. SDSU won all three games in various fashions, earning 4-0, 12-3 (5) and 1-0 victories over the Bison.

Tori Kniesche continued her stellar recent showings in the circle for the Jackrabbits. Kniesche, who recently earned Summit League and D1 Softball National Pitcher of the Week honors, threw two complete-game shutouts against NDSU. She has now pitched 54 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings and is 17-4 overall having picked up wins in her last eight appearances.

Jocelyn Carrillo has rose her way up SDSU's batting order as the season has progressed. Carrillo is now hitting .299 on the year despite hitting a mere .111 through the first 10 games of the 2023 slate. Carrillo earned the Summit League's Peak Performer of the Week honors as she continues to scorch Summit League competition. In nine conference contests, Carrillo is hitting a team-leading .464 with five doubles and six RBIs.

Emma Osmundson was a key to SDSU's sweep of NDSU a week ago. At the plate, Osmundson was 5-for-9 with five RBIs in the Jacks' three victories. She also had a game-saving outfield assist in the seventh inning of their 1-0 finale against the Bison.

Other big contributors for SDSU so far this season are Shannon Lasey, Mia Jarecki and Rozelyn Carrillo. Lasey has a 10-6 record in the circle for the Jacks and a 3.42 ERA. Jarecki leads the team and Summit League in home runs (7), runs (32) and walks (28). Rozelyn Carrillo paces SDSU in RBIs (29).
