Jocelyn Tanner registered clean sheets in back-to-back Jackrabbit victories and for her performance has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Defensive Peak Performer of the Week on Monday, Sept. 11, by the conference office.
Tanner was stellar in goal on Thursday in a highly competitive match against Grand Canyon in Brookings. The Ham Lake, Minn., native made five saves as the Jacks defeated the Lopes 1-0. SDSU's next matchup on Sunday versus Green Bay ended with the Jackrabbits earning a 5-0 win over the Phoenix. Tanner saved both shots she faced.
Through eight games played, Tanner leads The Summit League with a .769 goals against average mark and is fourth with a .800 save percentage. The Defensive Peak Performer of the Week award is the third of Tanner's college career.
South Dakota State plays its final non-conference match of the season on Friday when the Jackrabbits take on Creighton in Omaha at 5 p.m.
