The South Dakota State baseball team will venture west on a couple occasions, but otherwise will maintain a strong Midwest presence during the upcoming 2025 baseball season.

The Jackrabbits, 20-29 overall a season ago, open the slate by playing their first 21 games on the road, starting with a four-game series at Murray State of the Missouri Valley Conference Feb. 14-16. SDSU will play the remainder of February in California with four-game series Feb. 21-23 at Pacific and Feb. 26-March 1 at Sacramento State.

A return to the Midwest marks the first of several mid-week games against major-conference opponents as the Jackrabbits travel to Nebraska on March 5. SDSU also has nonconference games at Kansas (April 2) and Minnesota (April 8, April 16), as well as road contests versus Air Force (March 12) and Creighton (March 19).

The final weekend series before the start of Summit League play is a three-game set March 7-9 at Saint Louis.

Summit League play gets under way with a three-game series March 14-16 at Northern Colorado.

With an all-turf playing surface being installed at the on-campus Erv Huether Field, the Jackrabbits are slated to play 19 home games in 2025, plus an April 23 matchup against Creighton at Sioux Falls Stadium. The home opener is slated for March 21, when SDSU hosts St. Thomas to kick off a three-game Summit League series.

Other home Summit League series are set for April 11-13 versus Omaha, April 25-27 against North Dakota State, May 2-4 versus Northern Colorado and the regular season finale May 15-17 against Oral Roberts.

The remainder of the home schedule includes mid-week games versus regional non-Division I programs Southwest Minnesota State (March 26), Sioux Falls (April 1), Dakota Wesleyan (April 9) and Northwestern (Iowa) (April 23).

Rounding out the 30-game Summit League schedule are road series March 28-30 at North Dakota State, April 4-6 at Oral Roberts, April 18-20 at St. Thomas and May  9- 11 at Omaha.

The four-team Summit League Baseball Championship is scheduled for May 21-24 in Omaha, Nebraska.
