BROOKINGS, S.D. - South Dakota State women's basketball ran its win streak to seven games Tuesday night with an 84-47 win over Dakota State at First Bank & Trust Arena.
The Jackrabbits improve to 10-2 on the season with one non-conference game remaining. The Trojans remain at 8-3 overall as Tuesday's contest was an exhibition for Dakota State.Â
SDSU shot 38 percent in the opening half but held the visiting Trojans to only 20 points over the first 20 minutes and led 34-20 at halftime. The Jacks were 55 percent after halftime and ran away from the Trojans over the final two quarters.
Every Jackrabbit got into the scoring column for the second time this season, led by a 16-point night for
Brooklyn Meyer.
Emilee Fox hit a pair of 3-pointers and matched her career best with 12 points.
Haleigh Timmer finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. She had seven offensive boards.
Katie Vasecka also scored 11 points and recorded seven rebounds.
The Jackrabbits had one of their best rebounding performances in recent history, posting a 57-35 advantage on the glass and 17-10 edge in offensive boards. SDSU's 57 rebounds is the most by the Jacks in a single games since January 2023. The team's 17 offensive rebounds resulted in 19 second-chance points.
Kallie Theisen tallied a season-high eight points to go with eight rebounds and a pair of blocks. Her two blocks on the night brought her career total to 109, which is ninth on SDSU's career blocks chart.
Paige Meyer also scored eight points - all in the second half - and matched her season high with seven assists. Meyer has dished at least five assists in five of the last six games and in all but three games this season.
Madison Mathiowetz followed with a pair of treys for six points and five rebounds.
Mesa Byom chipped in four points and five rebounds.

Ellie Colbeck,
Jenna Hopp and
Madysen Vlastuin finished with two points apiece to round out the scorers.
Lilli Mackley knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 14 points for Dakota State. Angela Slattery had nine points and five rebounds.
NOTES
- South Dakota State remains unbeaten against the Trojans at 28-0. Tuesday was the first meeting between the teams since 1992.
- Brooklyn Meyer has led SDSU in scoring nine out of 12 games this season.
