SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- South Dakota State senior
Oscar Cluff was chosen as The Summit League's Male Peak Performer of the Month, league officials announced Wednesday.
Cluff earned two weekly nods from The Summit League during November through the course of the opening month of the college basketball season. The SDSU center helped the JackrabbIts open the campaign with a 6-2 record in November. Through eight games, Cluff averaged 18.1 points per game and 11.8 rebounds per game.
The Sunshine Coast, Australia, native racked up six double doubles which were second most among Division I players during the month. Cluff also had three 20-plus point scoring games. He scored a career-high 23 points, while matching his career high of 14 rebounds, against Long Beach State on Nov. 8 in the second game of the season. His three-point play in the closing seconds lifted the Jacks to an 80-79 win. Cluff also was tabbed to the Cayman Islands Classic All-Tournament Team right before Thanksgiving as he produced three double-double efforts during a 2-1 span for SDSU.
It's the second straight season an SDSU men's player has received Peak Performer of the Month accolades. Last February saw
Zeke Mayo earn the honors as SDSU claimed the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Championship.
The Jackrabbit men's basketball team is in action tonight. SDSU faces Montana inside Dahlberg Arena in Missoula at 8 p.m. CT.
