Â
SDSU will have another opportunity to compete on its home field when the postseason arrives. The Jackrabbits play host to the 2024 Summit League Softball Championship from May 8-11 at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium. SDSU hosted the tournament for the first time a season ago, falling to Omaha in the championship.
Â
The Jackrabbits sit at 28-18 overall and 11-0 in Summit League play. SDSU takes a 15-game winning streak into the weekend. That stretch is the third longest active streak in the country behind Stony Brook and Lehigh (17 straight wins).
Â
SDSU's winning streak was extended on Wednesday with a mid-week 7-0 victory over Minnesota in Minneapolis after a 10-day break between games.
Shannon Lasey threw her second complete-game shutout of the season and
Emma Osmundson had four RBIs to lead the Jacks to a win. The victory for the Jacks was their first over the Gophers since 2007, ending a four-game win streak for Minnesota, while SDSU improved to 4-8 in the series. The Jackrabbits are 4-1 versus Big Ten foes this year with two wins over Purdue and a split of contests against Ohio State.Â
Â
The Jackrabbits are off to a double-digit game undefeated start in Summit League action for the second straight season. SDSU has won 44 straight league games in regular season action dating back to the 2022 season. Following Oklahoma's series defeat at the hands of Texas a couple weeks ago, SDSU gained control of the longest active streak of regular season conference wins in Division I softball.
