SIOUX FALLS, SD – After shattering the previous SDSU javelin throw school record and tallying an event win, Nora Peterson has been named the TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Field Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
Peterson was the college javelin champion at the Drake Relays, winning the event with a monstrous throw of 156-04.00. She improved her previous personal best by nearly 12 feet/3.65 meters, currently sits atop the league and is 41st in the NCAA West Region.
This is Peterson's first career weekly honor.
South Dakota State track and field will head to action at St. Thomas and MSU-Mankato on Wednesday before heading to USD on Friday.
