MANHEIM, Pa. — South Dakota State wrestling reached new heights both on the mat and in the classroom during the 2023-24 season, with the Jackrabbits attaining a fourth-place showing in the National Wrestling Coaches Association's 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Team Scholar All-America top-30 rankings.
The Jackrabbits compiled a 3.5416 team grade-point average to receive the team recognition for the fourth season in a row and were the highest-ranking Big 12 Conference school. Harvard led the way with a 3.6134 team GPA, followed by Cleveland State at 3.5706 and Drexel with a 3.5456 team GPA.
SDSU finished 10th a season ago with a 3.4635 team GPA.
The team GPA has historically been calculated among the eligible student-athletes who competed at their conference qualifying tournament, along with two other wrestlers who competed during the 2023-24 season.
Previously, seven Jackrabbit wrestlers were honored individually as NWCA Scholar All-Americans. In addition, SDSU set a program record last month with four All-Americans at the 2024 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships after tying the school mark with eight national qualifiers.
