FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - South Dakota State's Jake Werner competed in the preliminary heats of the 100-meter dash Wednesday at the NCAA West Regional.

Werner posted a 10.68 in his race, finishing seventh in his heat and 44th overall. He will not advance to Friday's quarterfinals.

Werner's teammates take the track Thursday to continue the Jackrabbits' week in Arkansas.
