South Dakota State heads north on Interstate 29 as the Jackrabbits face two consecutive opponents in the Peace Garden State. The Jacks play at North Dakota State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, then head to Grand Forks to face North Dakota at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
SDSU is in the midst of a four-game winning streak after a 90-71 victory over South Dakota this past Saturday. Five double-digit scorers carried the Jackrabbits to their ninth consecutive win in the series against the Coyotes.Â
Several individuals had highlight performances for SDSU against USD.
Kalen Garry nearly had his first-career double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. Freshmen
Owen Larson (18) and
Stoney Hadnot (14) recorded career highs scoring.
Oscar Cluff registered his 14th double-double this season while setting a career-high seven assists.
The Jackrabbits are 14-8 overall and 5-2 in Summit League play. The Bison, also at 5-2 in conference action, are 16-6 overall and currently on a five-game win streak.Â
NDSU paces the conference in scoring offense through seven Summit League contests averaging 86.4 points per game. The Bison rank second in the nation in 3-point percentage (40.5%) and 3-pointers per game (12.3). Senior transfer Jacksen Moni is 15th in the nation in scoring (19.9) overall while he averages 22.4 in conference play.
The Jackrabbits and Bison have a lengthy history with NDSU holding a 124-112 edge in the series. SDSU and NDSU last met in the 2023-24 regular season finale which saw the Jacks roll to a 78-61 victory. The win was the largest by SDSU in Fargo during its Division I era.Â
Six of the last 14 meetings between the two sides have come down to a single-possession margin. That includes a 74-73 overtime victory for NDSU in Brookings against SDSU last February.Â
SDSU pays a visit to UND after defeating the Fighting Hawks, 109-73, just over two weeks prior. The 36-point victory was SDSU's largest against a DI opponent in over seven years.
Joe Sayler scored a career-high 25 points in the contest while four others finished in double digits.Â
