South Dakota State hits the road in Summit League play for the first time this season as the Jackrabbits travel to St. Paul to face St. Thomas. The Jacks and Tommies are slated for an 8 p.m. tipoff on Wednesday in Schoenecker Arena.
SDSU won its conference opener, 91-70, over Denver last Thursday in First Bank & Trust Arena. St. Thomas stands at 2-0 in conference action with wins at North Dakota State (89-85) and North Dakota (88-80). The Jacks are 10-6 overall and St. Thomas is 12-5.
The two foes competed three times a season ago with the Jackrabbits picking up wins in all three. SDSU won in the final seconds at St. Thomas, 81-80, on Jan. 11. SDSU's Senior Day featured a second-half comeback to en route to a 77-72 victory on Feb. 24 in the Jacks' Frost Arena finale. The two then met in The Summit League Tournament semifinals which the Jacks won, 59-49. The Jackrabbits have won six of seven DI meetings and are 15-8 all-time over the Tommies.
Senior center
Oscar Cluff claimed co-Summit League Peak Performer of the Week honors with St. Thomas' Miles Barnstable. Cluff was also tabbed as College Insider's Lou Henson National Player of the Week, which awards the mid-major player of the week. The accolades come off Cluff scoring 30 points and grabbing 19 rebounds versus Denver. Cluff now ranks among the top three individuals in DI men's basketball in field goal percentage (69.4%), rebounds per game (11.7) and double-doubles (10) this year.

Joe Sayler and freshman
Owen Larson. Mors is averaging career highs across all statistical categories in his third year in Yellow and Blue. Both Sayler and Garry are scoring in double digits, with Sayler (12.4) currently scoring the most by a freshman by average since the 2017-18 season. Larson has started in all 16 games and is averaging the most minutes (28.5) by a freshman since the 2019-20 slate.Â
St. Thomas has won eight of its last nine contests entering Wednesday's matchup. The Tommies rank atop The Summit League in scoring offense (85.5), free throw percentage (78.1%) and field goal percenage (49.8%).Â
