South Dakota State coach Rob Bishop announced Wednesday the signings of five high school standouts who plan to enroll next fall and compete for the Jackrabbit baseball program.

"Knowing the 2026 class would a smaller one we really focused on bringing in guys who could make an immediate impact," Bishop said. "With all of the noise regarding the transfer portal, we are doubling down on finding high school guys who are a great fit at SDSU academically and on the field. We feel great about this group and what they bring to our program."
The signees include:
Joe Ackerman, right-handed pitcher, Minneapolis, Minnesota;
JOE ACKERMAN
Ackerman has earned all-conference honors and been named his team's most valuable pitcher each of the last three seasons at the Academy of Holy Angels. He posted an earned run average of 1.12 or less in all three seasons while racking up 225 strikeouts, including 87 his junior campaign. Ackerman also limited the opposition to a .159 batting average during the 2025 season.
He plans to major in mechanical engineering.
LIAM HAGLAND
Hagland has received all-conference recognition in both baseball and football at Germantown High School. As a junior, he allowed only two earned runs in 22 1/3 innings pitched (0.63 ERA) while striking out 36 and walking only seven. He also held opposing batters to a .145 batting average.
Hagland also was one of the region's top receivers in football, totaling 77 receptions for 994 yards and 13 touchdowns over three seasons.
A recipient of the Scholar-Athlete Award in multiple sports, Hagland intends to major in business economics.
BRYCE LOKER
Loker earned first-team all-conference honors for Omro High School in 2025 after compiling a 1.17 earned run average on the mound and batting .452 with 17 extra-base hits. For his career, Loker is averaging 12.3 strikeouts per seven innings pitched and is a two-time team pitcher of the year.
A High Honor Roll student and a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team, Loker plans to major in statistics.
LINUS MORRISON
Morrison was named to the all-Iowa Baseball Third Team after a junior season at Oskaloosa High School in which he posted a 1.62 earned run average, struck out 70 batters and held the opposition to a .138 batting average.
In addition, Morrison is one of 16 prep student-athletes from across the country who has been selected to serve on the National Federation of State High School Associations National Student Advisory Council.
An honor student, he is planning to major in business economics at South Dakota State.
CALLEN TOMSYCK
Tomsyck was a key contributor on Muskego High School's Division 1 state championship team in 2025. He ended his junior season with a .348 batting average, notching 14 extra-base hits (3 home runs) and 23 runs batted in. He also saw extensive action on the mound during an all-conference campaign.
A two-time Scholar-Athlete Award recipient, Tomsyck plans to major in exercise science.

South Dakota State, located in Brookings, competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of The Summit League. The Jackrabbits are scheduled to open the 2026 season Feb. 13-15 with a three series at Texas-San Antonio.
