South Dakota State is back on its home floor for the final time in 2025 this Friday when the Jackrabbits host Dakota Wesleyan at 7 p.m. in First Bank & Trust Arena. SDSU's next time it'll appear on the FB&T Arena home court will be on New Year's Day to begin The Summit League schedule.
SDSU bounced back from a tough home defeat with a road victory at Ball State on Tuesday. The Jackrabbits used a 9-0 scoring run late in the second half to pull ahead of the Cardinals, then withstood a rally from Ball State to claim a 68-64 win. The Jacks held the host Cardinals to a 26.7% clip shooting in the second half and 24 points the last 20 minutes en route to the road victory.
Junior
Kalen Garry had arguably his best performance of the season Tuesday. The SDSU guard was 5-for-11 shooting, including 3 of 4 from deep, for a season-high 15 points. He also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and dished out a career-best seven assists.Â
Sophomore
Damon Wilkinson has now played over 22 minutes in each of his last three games. Wilkinson has been strong on both sides of the floor for the Jackrabbits. In the three-game span he's averaged 14.3 points, on 63% shooting, and 6.7 rebounds to go along with a combined five assists and four blocks.
South Dakota State is 6-5 overall with four non-conference games remaining before Summit League play. SDSU heads to Sioux Falls on Monday to take on Wyoming in the Sanford Pentagon at 7 p.m. The Jacks then play at Milwaukee (Dec. 19) and No. 1/2 Arizona (Dec. 29) before their conference opener versus Omaha.
SDSU and Dakota Wesleyan will meet for the third consecutive season. The Jacks defeated the Tigers, 83-55, in November of 2024 when the two sides met for the first time in 20 years. State topped the Tigers a season ago, 78-62. The Jackrabbits are 26-6 all-time against the Tigers.
Dakota Wesleyan enters Friday's contest with a 5-7 record. The Tigers are on a four-game losing streak, with each game on the road, having most recently fell in a 77-69 matchup at Dordt on Wednesday. DWU is led by first-year coach Sam Nicholson.Â
