SEDONA, Ariz. - The South Dakota State women's golf team tied for third place at the Red Rocks Invitational Sunday.
The tournament was shortened to just 18 holes due to snowfall and course conditions at Oakcreek Country Club. Competition began Friday afternoon but was delayed partway through due to heavy snow. Play could not resume until Sunday.
SDSU tied with Summit League foe North Dakota State with a 291 (+3) team tally for the round. The Jackrabbits finished only behind Grand Canyon and host Northern Arizona.
Senior
Shakira-Ann Kuys finished in runner-up position, tied with three other golfers. She posted a 2-under over 18 holes, only one shot behind Northern Arizona's medalist, Ellena Slater.
Molly O'Hara tied for 19th place with a 73 (+1) scorecard.
McKenzie Mages and
Piper Stubbs tied for 31st place (74, +2) and
Reese Jansa rounded out the lineup in a tie for 42nd (75, +3).
UP NEXT
The Jackrabbits travel to the Ozark National Invitational hosted by Missouri State March 24-26 in Branson, Missouri.
