BROOKINGS, S.D. - South Dakota State women's basketball has announced the signing of Maggie Hartwig to the 2025-26 roster.

Hartwig transfers into the SDSU program with two years of eligibility following two seasons at Evansville. As an Ace, Hartwig scored 16.5 points and grabbed 9.2 rebounds per game in her sophomore season. She scored at least 20 points on 10 occasions in 2024-25, including a career-high 29 points at Southern Illinois in February. Hartwig also posted double-digit rebounds in 13 games this year with her career high of 20 boards coming against Southeast Missouri State in November. Her scoring average ranked seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference and her rebounding average ranked third.
Overall, Hartwig averaged 14.0 points and 8.3 rebounds per game over two seasons at Evansville. She started 58 of 62 games played, tallied 17 double-doubles and sits at 868 career points through two seasons.
Prior to her time as an Ace, Hartwig played four years for Sauk Prairie High School and averaged 19 points and 15 rebounds as a senior in 2023-24. Hartwig was a multi-time all-conference and all-state selection
Hartwig is the daughter of Missy and Nick Hartwig. She plans to major in human biology.
