MARICOPA, Ariz. - The South Dakota state women's golf team finished in sixth place at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club Thursday.
Piper Stubbs again paced the Jackrabbit squad. The senior finished in a tie for fifth place with a +2 scorecard, a top-five placing for the third time this year and the second straight event. Stubbs posted an even-par round for Thursday's final lap and finished with 11 total birdies over three rounds.
McKenzie Mages followed Stubbs, finished in a tie for 24th place with a +11 three-round tally. Mages tallied par or better on 40 holes.
Molly O'Hara tied for 39th (+16),
Shakira-Ann Kuys placed 69th (+27) and
Reese Jansa tied for 75th place (+33).
The Jackrabbit team posted a 913 (+49) team score 4th the Cowgirl Classic. Iowa State won the team title at +3, led by Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn's -2 individual medalist scorecard.
