South Dakota State returns home to First Bank & Trust Arena for a Saturday matchup against Kansas City. The Jackrabbits and Roos are slated for a 4:15 p.m. tipoff following the 2 p.m. women's contest between SDSU and North Dakota State.
The Jackrabbits are 2-2 in Summit League play, and 9-10 overall, heading into Saturday. SDSU is coming off a 76-65 defeat at NDSU which leads the conference with a 5-0 record in league action. The Bison took advantage from deep in the meeting going 14-for-31 (45.2%) from 3-point range. Four Jacks scored in double digits in

SDSU ranks atop The Summit League through four games in opponent field goal percentage (43%) and rebounding average (39.0). SDSU's scoring has been paced by its customary starting lineup that includes Sayler (17.8), Wilkinson (16.0), Jackson (15.3), Mors (10.8) and
Kalen Garry (10.0). Wilkinson is averaging a double-double with his 10.3 rebounds per game clip. Garry has a team-best 4.3 assists per contest. SDSU scores 80.8 points per game so far.
Kansas City is 4-15 overall and stands at 1-4 in the conference standings. The Roos are coming off a 99-83 loss at South Dakota on Thursday. Kansas City's lone Summit League win was a 73-66 victory at Omaha on Jan. 3.
The Roos have two players that play over 31 minutes per game through five Summit League affairs. The duo, U'Riyah Evans and Karmello Branch, are also the team's leading scorers averaging respectively 16.2 and 16.0 points. Chris Docker grabs a team-high 8.2 boards while Evans registers 4.4 assists per contest.
The Jackrabbits have won 18 of the last 20 matchups against the Roos dating back to the 2011-12 season. SDSU is 24-7 all-time against Kansas City. South Dakota State has won 12 straight games in Brookings over Kansas City. Last season's meeting in First Bank & Trust Arena finished in favor of SDSU by a 70-65 score.
It will be a two-week break between home games for the Jacks. SDSU plays at St. Thomas (Jan. 22) and Omaha (Jan. 28). SDSU will begin a three-game homestand on Jan. 31 versus ORU.
