South Dakota State returns to First Bank & Trust Arena to begin a three-game home stand on Saturday as the Jackrabbits take on Oral Roberts at 2 p.m. The contest versus the Golden Eagles opens a stretch that also features SDSU hosting St. Thomas (Feb. 4) and South Dakota (Feb. 7).Â
The Jackrabbits and Golden Eagles meet for the first time this season. SDSU is 23-14 all-time against Oral Roberts and has won the last four meetings. The Jacks are 12-4 against the Golden Eagles in Brookings. ORU's last win in SDSU's home confines was back in the 2023 regular season finale, a 69-65 victory for the Golden Eagles, in Frost Arena. It came as a part of Oral Roberts' undefeated 18-0 league record that season.Â
Both teams look to pick up a victory in conference play as the Summit League schedule hits the halfway point. SDSU is 3-4 in the conference standings and has fallen in its last two outings at St. Thomas (74-69) and at Omaha (80-71). The Jackrabbits haven't had a three-game losing skid in Summit League play since 2017.Â
Oral Roberts stands at 5-18 overall and 0-8 against Summit League opposition this season. The Golden Eagles, like the Jackrabbits, are guided by a first-year head coach in Kory Barnett. Oral Roberts features three double-digit scorers in Ty Harper (15.3), Ofri Naveh (12.7) and Connor Dow (11.7).
South Dakota State has had multiple players stand out over the course of the 2025-26 season. Most recently,
Damon Wilkinson matched his career high of 24 points in the defeat at Omaha on Wednesday. Wilkinson is averaging 15.6 points, on 62.1% shooting, and 7.9 rebounds during Summit League play. He's scored in double digits in 16 of his last 18 appearances.Â
Wilkinson is joined in double digits scoring in conference action by
Joe Sayler (17.6),
Jaden Jackson (11.1) and
Kalen Garry (10.7), while
Matthew Mors is just shy of the mark at 9.6 points per game.Â
SDSU as a team ranks second in the league in opponent field goal percentage (43.5%) and third in field goal percentage (48.2%). The Jacks lead the Summit in rebounds per game (37.9).
