BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State's Caiden Fredrick takes the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Field Performer of the Week for the second week in a row, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.
Fredrick earns this honor after winning the weight throw and finishing second in the shot put at the SDSU Last Chance meet last weekend. The junior posted a weight throw mark of 68-08.00 (20.93m) to become the second-best performer in program history. His mark is currently the best in the Summit League and only a few inches shy of the Jackrabbit program record mark, set by Colton Bender at 68-11.75 in 2018 . Later in the meet, Fredrick posted a shot put throw of 54-04.00 (16.56m) to finish runner-up behind teammate Caymen Gebheim.
