SIOUX FALLS — Four members of the South Dakota State swimming and diving teams — two men and two women — were honored Wednesday on the Summit League All- Academic Teams.
Both of the Jackrabbits' representatives on the men's team were repeat selections as Braxton McGrath was selected to the squad for the third season in a row and Kolden Kringen earned a spot for the second consecutive season.
A senior from Amana, Iowa, McGrath has compiled a 3.85 grade-point average as a mechanical engineering major. He holds school records in both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly and earned individual all-league honors in both events at the 2026 Summit League Championships with respective third and second-place finishes. McGrath also was a member of the Jackrabbits' school-record 400 medley relay, which placed third at this year's league meet.
Kringen, a junior from Williston, North Dakota, holds a perfect 4.0 GPA as a double major in psychology and aviation. He was a B finalist in three individual events at the 2026 Summit League Championships, placing ninth in the 400 individual medley, 14th in the 500 freestyle and 15th in the 200 butterfly.
In the women's division, Jenna Currier received her third selection to the academic all-league team and Annabelle Gifford was honored for the first time.
A senior from Denison, Iowa, Currier has compiled a 3.97 GPA as a mathematics and data science major. She set a school record in the 100-yard butterfly en route to all-Summit League honors with a runner-up showing at the league championships. Currier also was part of the Jackrabbits' record-setting 400 freestyle relay and added individual finishes of fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 100 freestyle at the league meet.
Gifford, a junior from St. Paul, Minnesota, competed in the diving events for the Jackrabbits and has turned in a 3.93 GPA as a business economics major.
Selections to the 15-member squads are determined by a vote conducted among the league's sports information directors and faculty athletics representatives. Nominees must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average, be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, and be a key contributor to his or her team.
