WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The South Dakota State women's golf team finished tied for eighth place at the Boilermaker Spring Classic hosted by Purdue Monday.
The Jackrabbits posted a +51 overall team score, tied with fellow Summit League member Denver. Illinois finished 6-over to win the team title by three shots ahead of Purdue.
McKenzie Mages was SDSU's top finisher with a +9 final scorecard to finish in a tie for 21st place. She finished the tournament with 37 pars, tying for the fifth-most among all players.
Reese Jansa placed in a tie for 39th with a +15 three-round tally. The senior posted a 75 during the final round, her best finish of the week.
Hannah Boraas finished one shot back from Jansa, placing in a tie 49th (+16).
Riko Danjo and
Molly O'Hara finished in a tie for 54th (+17).
Hannah Pettitt and Samanth Stites competed individually for the Jacks this week. Pettitt finished 90th overall (+34), followed by Stites in 92nd (+37).
Minnesota's Isabella McCauley captured the individual title at -4 overall.
NOTES
- SDSU was one of two teams to post two eagles at the tournament.
- The Jacks tied for fourth on par-3 holes, averaging 3.23 shots.
- Riko Danjo averaged 2.83 shots per par-3, which was second among all participating players.
